The biggest change in this version is a complete refactor of how the widgets work to give you more precise and reliable control over placement. The single widget has been replaced by two distinct, specialized widgets. When you update, you will now see two options in your Appearance > Widgets screen: Verse of the Day Header: A full-width widget designed for prominent placement in your site’s header, footer, or within page content. Verse of the Day Sidebar: A compact widget specifically optimized to fit neatly into any sidebar area. New Shortcodes To accompany the new widgets, there are two new, easy-to-remember shortcodes: For the full-width header widget, use: [votd_header_widget] For the compact sidebar widget, use: [votd_sidebar_widget] Backward Compatibility Don’t worry, your existing setups are safe! For backward compatibility, the original shortcode [votd_verse_of_the_day_widget_for_wp] will continue to work perfectly. It now serves as an alias for the new header widget. Please update to version 7.5 to take advantage of these new features. Replies: 0 Hi everyone, We’ve resolved the recent issue where the Verse of the Day widget was unavailable. This has been fixed in version 7.4.16. A brief outage occurred on July 8th due to a configuration error following a change in our hosting providers. This has now been corrected, and the widget should be functioning normally for all users who update to the latest version. Replies: 0 Hi everyone, We recently identified and fixed a bug in Version 7.3.80 of the plugin where the plugin mistakenly altered the WordPress page’s stylesheet, causing the entire page’s text color to display as white. This issue was unintended and has now been resolved in the latest update. If you experienced unexpected white text across your site after updating, simply updating to Version 7.3.80 should correct the problem.
