🛠️ Get Started

1. Install the Plugin: In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New and search for “Verse of the Day Widget for WP”. Install and activate it from there. Alternatively, you can upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/verse-of-the-day-widget-for-wp directory.
2. Activate the Plugin: After installation, go to the ‘Plugins’ screen and activate it.
3. Place the Widget: Navigate to Appearance > Widgets, where you will find two distinct widgets available. You can add the full-width header widget or the compact sidebar widget to your theme’s available areas, such as a header or sidebar.
4. Use the Shortcode: For maximum flexibility, you can embed the widget directly into your posts and pages using one of the following shortcodes:
   • [votd_header_widget]: Displays the full-width header widget.
   • [votd_sidebar_widget]: Displays the compact sidebar widget.
   • [votd_verse_of_the_day_widget_for_wp]: This is the original legacy shortcode, perfect for embedding the header widget directly into posts and pages.
5. Customize the Widget: Once placed, open the widget’s settings. Here, you can select a language and choose from 8 different font options to personalize the appearance of the text.
